নতুন মানহীন উড়ন্ত ট্যাক্সিগুলি উন্মোচন করা হয়েছে যা একক চার্জে 200 কিমি উড়তে পারে

Chinese company EHang has been working on a number of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. And its latest model – the VT-35 – marks a major step up in range and performance. The two-seater unmanned aerial vehicle is installed with eight lifting propellers for vertical take-off and landing, meaning it can fly and land almost anywhere without the need for a runway. EHang said: “With its autonomous flight capabilities, point-to-point efficiency, and clean electric propulsion, the VT-35 is poised to play a pivotal role in the development of a low-altitude air mobility ecosystem, spanning from urban to intercity corridors.” Following extensive pre-engineering, the VT-35 focuses on intercity travel, opening up the possibility of air travel between cities or even cross-Channel flights should it launch in the UK, as reported by Luxury Auto News. EHang’s founder and CEO, Huazhi Hu, said: “As a pioneer in uncrewed eVTOL technology, EHang is continuously optimising aircraft performance and enhancing application capabilities to provide the public with safe, smart, and more affordable low-altitude transportation solutions for the overall future of the global civil aviation.” The Chinese tech firm EHang is developing self-driving air taxis and has just unveiled a new long-range model that can fly 200km (124 miles) on a single charge. The two-seater drone has eight vertical take-off and landing rotors, meaning it can fly and land almost anywhere without the need for a runway. The company is focusing on intercity travel with the VT-35, opening up the possibility of air travel between cities and towns. Even cross-Channel flights if it launches in the UK. The firm is also working to create a “one-hour air mobility lifestyle” in major regions of China, connecting major cities and island clusters, including the Yangtze River Delta, the Pearl River Delta, and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. EHang has announced the formal price of the standard version of the VT-35 in China is 6.5 million yuan (£685,978), although a global release date is yet to be confirmed. It comes as NASA has announced its X-59, a supersonic aircraft that could fly from London to New York in just four hours, is almost ready for take-off. The research aircraft is expected to reach speeds of 990mph, faster than the speed of sound. This high speed means the device could technically fly from the UK capital to New York in approximately three hours. And 44 minutes. This is strikingly fast compared to commercial flights, which typically take seven to eight hours to complete the transatlantic journey. It is currently undergoing final safety tests before its debut flight. The aircraft’s special design, described as being “quiet”, means that it will create a dull thud instead of a loud sonic boom. NASA’s X-59 is a supersonic research aircraft which is expected to reach speeds of 990mph, faster than the speed of sound. This is unlike other aircraft which were so loud that they were deemed unsuitable for flying over populated areas due to the sonic boom. The $247.5 million aircraft has been nicknamed the ‘Son of Concorde’ after the famous plane which produced a sonic boom when reaching speeds faster than the speed of sound. It is currently undergoing testing and safety evaluations in California at US Air Force Plant 42.
