The design seemed geared towards data center deployment rather than mere demonstration, with specific attention to power delivery and service access. “AMD has a deal with OpenAI for the MI400 series. The company announced a deal with Oracle for 50,000 GPUs. There is also a custom rack at Meta that, at first glance, may look similar to the AMD Helios rack, but the swapping of the power supplies and scale-out networking on the rack is vastly different,” Kennedy noted. It had four 64-port Ethernet switches at the top rather than power supplies, used more DACs than multimode fiber, and moved the power supplies to the sidecar via a horizontal bus connected at the top and center of the rack.
