LaGuardia’s reputation is soaring. Forbes Travel Guide’s second annual Verified Air Travel Awards recognize the airports and airlines that offer the highest levels of passenger service, and topping the list for once being one of the most-hated airports: New York’s LaGuardia Airport. Forbes isn’t the first to name LaGuardia Airport a top 2025 airport. Earlier this year, Skytrax’s 2025 World Airport Awards recognized it as a top 50 airport for short-haul domestic and international travel. “A decade ago, the suggestion that LaGuardia Airport would one day be recognized on the world stage as one of the best regional airports in North America would have been laughable,” Port Authority Executive Director Rick Cotton admitted in a statement at the time. “But the Port Authority and our private partners delivered on what we promised – a world-class airport with inspiring architecture, public art, iconic concessions and state-of-the-art technology that has moved LaGuardia from worst to best in the eyes of critics and passengers alike.” For the second year in a row, New York’s LaGuardia Airport has been named the best airport in the United States. It features a 10-story shopping mall, multiple indoor gardens, a butterfly sanctuary, a rooftop swimming pool, a museum, a 24-hour movie theatre, a dinosaur-themed entertainment park, and the Rain Vortex, the world’s largest indoor waterfall at nearly 50 meters high. For the second year, Emirates and Delta Air Lines nabbed the titles of best international airline and best American airline, respectively. Emirates won the title of best international airline. Delta, which is celebrating its centennial this year, also nabbed best first class in the U.S. for its A321neo first class which features 20 memory-foam seats. Delta One was named best business class in the U.S. Those who have a Delta One business class ticket automatically have access to the Delta One Lounge located in the airport. John F. Kennedy was recognized as the best U.S. airline lounge.
