একটি দম্পতি একটি পশু আশ্রয়ে বিয়ে করে – বিবাহের আংটি বহনকারী হিসাবে একটি প্রতিবন্ধী ভেড়ার সাথে

A couple who met at an animal shelter got married in a unique location – with a disabled sheep as their ring bearer. Jack Ratcliffe, 34, met his fiancee Rosie, 28, when she started volunteering at his animal sanctuary, Millington’s Magical Barn, five years ago. After spending the summer “mucking out stables and looking after the animals together,” the couple fell in love and married on August 2 at a converted cow shed on the site. Jack, an electrical engineer from Wakefield, Yorkshire, working in rescue, said: “We were discussing ideas last minute about who would be the ring bearer.” “I always wanted Bunny – she’s always been a daddy’s girl.” A rabbit with a blue harness and a decorative flower wheelchair. Jack Ratcliffe/SWNS “She came to Millington’s when we were converting the cow shed into the wedding venue, so she spent six weeks with me while we were all getting ready. “We did a little bit of testing, but there’s not too much training you can do with farm animals. “I just had to rely on the fact that me and Bunny had a special bond, and (…) that she would come to me. “I had a bottle of milk in my hand in case of emergencies. “I’m sure everyone was expecting we would have some sort of animal involvement. “It added to the atmosphere and made it all the more special.” Jack and Rosie smiling at the head table with wedding guests at the barn. His wife, Rosie, a veterinary nurse, then began volunteering at the sanctuary in the summer of 2020 and then proposed in August 2023. Rosie making a custom kit for the Bunny sheep. JAKE RATCLIFFE/SWNS Jack said: “We did have a wedding booked in France. “Once we started organizing it, it just didn’t feel right. “We spoke about it more and thought we met here, fell in love here, and proposed here, so it made sense that we got married here too. “The sanctuary isn’t a wedding venue so we had to come up with a solution as to where this (ceremony) would be held.” I told Rosie I would convert the barn into a wedding venue. “Rosie was skeptical, but I’d say it worked out.” A rescue sheep named Bunny drinks from a bottle at a wedding while wearing a ring bearer outfit. TANYA HOLLIDAY/SWNS “She was worried about whether a sheep would be involved because animals like cows, sheep, and pigs can’t adapt with order and training. “We said we would have a backup, so Rosie’s childhood dog Alfie, a Bichon Frise, was the second ring bearer. “Just before the ceremony, we lost him and I had to quickly borrow my mum’s ring to put on his finger. “As the confetti was being thrown, we were running around the farm trying to locate the ring.” We were wondering, ‘Where has Alfie gone?'” “He was in the cats’ room eating all their food with the ring on the floor next to him.” As Bunny was the star of the ceremony, the couple’s wedding guests were thrilled with her blue harness and a mobility aid serving as the wedding ring bearer. TANYA HOLLIDAY/SWNS Jack said: “There was a collective ‘aww’ sound when she walked down the aisle. “Sometimes our content can divide opinion as a sanctuary that rescues animals that people wouldn’t necessarily think need them, especially those that are disabled. “The opinion on this occasion was unanimous – everyone thought Bunny was amazing.” “When we were getting ready for the wedding, we were in the garden and I told the groom not to feed Bunny anything that she shouldn’t.” “But when the wedding photos came back, we saw that she had eaten some sandwiches.” “It proves you can’t outsource anything to the groom.” The bride Rosie said: “Everyone has their own idea of a dream wedding, and for me, a big, fancy French wedding just didn’t fit. JAKE RATCLIFFE/SWNS “I’m a simple girl and what’s really important is that I got married in a home, in beautiful Yorkshire, surrounded by rescued animals, our friends and our family.” We met at the sanctuary, we fell in love here, even got engaged here, when I was bottle-feeding a lamb that had a collar around his “” “It felt like coming full circle to get married here. “It took a village to transform our working animal sanctuary into our dream wedding location, but thanks to everyone that contributed, it truly was a dream day.” (TAGSTOtranslate)human interest
