A federal judge says she wants federal agents in the Chicago area to wear body cameras after a series of violent clashes with anti-immigration and Customs Enforcement crowds. U.S. District Judge Sarah Ellis, an appointee of former President Barack Obama, said images of the clashes televised as the Trump administration continues its crackdown on illegal immigration, left her “a little unsettled.” “There are pictures of tear gas being deployed and reports being read that there were no warnings on the field,” Ellis said in court this week, according to The New York Times. Last week, Ellis ordered ICE agents to wear badges and forbade them from using certain riot control tactics against peaceful protesters and journalists. Department of Justice attorney Sean Schidjzelouski blamed “biased and selectively edited media reporting,” according to the AP. He also said it wouldn’t be possible to immediately distribute the cameras. “I understand that. I don’t expect agents to wear cameras they don’t have,” Ellis said, adding that details could be worked out later. She said the field director for enforcement efforts must appear in court on Monday. (Scott Olson/Getty Images) An ICE facility in the Chicago suburb of Broadview, Illinois, has been the site of several chaotic clashes between federal law enforcement and protesters. An eight-foot fence around the facility was removed on Tuesday, following an order by a different federal judge, FOX 32 Chicago reported. The fence was reportedly erected late last month and has created tensions between federal and local officials. The Broadview Fire Department allegedly informed the Department of Homeland Security that the fence was built without permits, on a public street, under the village’s jurisdiction, according to FOX 32. Also on Tuesday, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that they apprehended two undocumented immigrants in Chicago after their vehicle collided with a Border Patrol vehicle during an immigration operation, which then erupted into clashes with protestors. The illegal immigrants were identified as Luis Gerardo Perilla Ramirez and Yonder Enrique Tenfe Perez, both Venezuelan nationals. A senior source from Department of Homeland Security told Fox News that the two became involved with the border patrol vehicle and attempted to flee the scene, he said. “The Border Patrol vehicle followed and was eventually able to stop it using an approved Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver. Once the vehicle was stopped, the suspects, both illegal aliens, attempted to flee on foot. As Border Patrol arrested the subjects and attempted to secure the scene, a crowd began to form, eventually, force was used and measured as was… ” the crowd.” He said tear gas was deployed, exposing 13 Chicago Police officers on the scene to riot control agents. JB Pritzker, have opposed the Trump administration’s immigration policy enforcement. President Donald Trump recently called for Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson to be arrested for allegedly failing to protect federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. He said: “I won’t back down. Trump is now calling for the arrest of elected officials to assert his power. What is left to be done on the path to total authoritarianism?” “We must all stand up and speak out,” Pritzker said on Oct. 8 in reaction to Trump’s comments. The White House declined to comment, saying that it would need a full order to do so. DHS did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
