SRM – AP University will host the inaugural Amravati Literary Festival (ALF) from October 22 to 24, 2025. With the evocative slogan “Kotha Nagaram, Kotha Swaralu” (New City, New Voices), the festival will celebrate the burgeoning spirit of Amravati and champion the power of literature to ignite ideas and shape destinies.
The 2025 ALF will bring together a vibrant constellation of writers, poets, translators, academics, and cultural icons from across India. Highlights include a keynote address by renowned Telugu feminist writer Volga (P. Lalita Kumari) and conversations with prominent voices such as Padma Shri Ganesh N. Devy, P. Satyavathi, Ramesh Karthik Nayak, Kadali Satyanarayana, Giri Pinto, Devendra Prabhudesai, Ranjan Subrajani, Manish Gaekwad, Ankha, Maili Aishwarya, Kanato Jimo, N. Jency, and Pawan Santhosh.
Celebrating the richness of multilingual creativity in India, the festival will feature sessions in Telugu and English. Evenings will come alive with cultural performances by students and artists, including Kuka Vijayalakshmi, blending literature with music, art, and theatre.
“More than just a celebration of books, ALF is a celebration of the city, the community, and the civic imagination. As Amravati evolves into a modern metropolis, the festival provides a platform to envision the new voices, stories, and identities that will define its cultural landscape,” said Amlan.
Attendees can look forward to an immersive experience of panel discussions, art installations, handicraft exhibitions, and culinary demonstrations, making ALF a truly inclusive cultural festival, said the festival organizer, Paisia.
“Our aim is to cultivate a love for literature, encourage critical thinking, and provide a platform for both emerging and established voices,” she added, emphasizing ALF’s commitment to community engagement and inclusive cultural exchange alongside the literary sessions.
