Man vs. Wild star Bear Grylls says writing about Jesus was the “hardest thing” he’s ever done, even harder than climbing Mount Everest or navigating frozen seas. “It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but it’s the best thing I’ve ever done,” Grylls said on “My Perspective with Lara Trump.” “My faith has always been a quiet, strong backbone through a lot of adventures.” The UK-born survival expert’s book, The Greatest Story Ever Told: An Eyewitness Account, published in June, recounts the life of Jesus which he describes as a faith-filled thriller. Two died from the cold, two fell, and I think that mountain shaped my future life a lot. Through that, Discovery Channel eventually called me, and we’ve done all this inside and out, you know, people.” 2025, LONDON (Jeff Spicer/Getty Images) Outside of his career and faith, Grylls also spoke about the importance of getting outdoors. “For me, the outdoors has always been a beautiful, healing and grounding place,” Grylls said. “It’s where I go to reconnect.” He worries that modern life has disconnected people from nature. “I think everybody’s scared of the sun nowadays.” “Try to be disciplined about the time you spend on your screen.” “It’s not bad, but try to give yourself a bit of a break,” Grylls recommended.
