Skattebo, who scored earlier in the game, caught a pass from Jackson Dart with approximately 8:09 left in the second quarter. The pass was slightly out of reach, but as he came down, his right ankle got caught underneath him. The FOX broadcast showed Dart unleashing an expletive scream out of frustration. Giants center John Michael Schmitz Jr. held his head in his hands in disbelief. Images showed Skattebo’s ankle was pointing to the right. He was helped onto a medical cart and waved to the crowd as he was taken off the field. He quickly earned his spot on the starting running back while providing an intense spark that gave Giants fans a glimmer of hope that their season could be salvaged. Entering the game, he had 398 rushing yards and five touchdowns. He also had 23 catches for 189 yards and a touchdown. He scored the Giants’ first touchdown of the game against the Eagles. But Philadelphia’s offense was too much for New York in the first half.
