Uber আগামী বছর সান ফ্রান্সিসকোতে স্ব-চালিত ট্যাক্সি রাইড চালু করছে

Uber announced Wednesday that the San Francisco Bay Area will be the first market for its purpose-built, self-driving taxis, expected to launch by late 2026. The San Francisco ride-hailing company said in July that it was partnering with electric vehicle company Lucid and self-driving technology company Nuro Inc. to create a robotaxi. The vehicle is based on Lucid. Over the next six years, Uber plans to deploy 20,000 or more self-driving taxis based on Lucid in multiple locations. The vehicles will be available to riders through the Uber app. To accelerate the deployment of self-driving taxis, Uber is working with several companies. On Tuesday, Uber said it was also building robotaxis with technology firm Nvidia and automaker Stellantis. Uber said Tuesday that in 2028, Stellantis expects to begin producing at least 5,000 vehicles powered by Nvidia software for Uber’s self-driving taxi operations in the U.S. Last week, Uber said it launched self-driving taxi rides in Saudi Arabia as part of a partnership with Chinese autonomous driving technology company WeRide. Uber is also working with WeRide in Abu Dhabi. While self-driving taxis are not new, Uber’s adoption of them as the world’s largest ride-hailing service is significant. Uber operates in 15,000 cities across more than 70 countries. Waymo, owned by Google’s parent company Alphabet, has been testing self-driving taxis for years. These taxis are currently available in Phoenix, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Austin. Waymo said earlier this month that it plans to expand to London next year. Uber also partners with Waymo for self-driving taxis in Phoenix, Austin, and Atlanta. -By Dee-Ann Durbin, AP Business Writer.
