Actually, Adams of Moreno Valley, California, is racing Formula 4 cars in France despite not being old enough to get a driver’s license. The 15-year-old rookie, enrolled in online classes at Corona’s Epic Charter School, became the first American driver to finish on the podium at the FEED Racing Volant F4 finale last month, placing third among international competitors at Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours, one of France’s top F1 venues. The race track is indeed where Adams raced in the FEED Racing Volant F4 finale in France. (Troy Adams Coaching) Adams is bilingual in English and Spanish and is learning French to help him pursue his desired career in racing. He has won kart races in Spain and was the fastest driver in a Mexico F4 series test. He’s preparing for the 2026 French Formula 4 season next year on his path to becoming a Formula 1 driver. Securing a place in the series requires $300,000 in funding, so he’s seeking sponsorships and partnerships. “I love racing cars because of the thrill of it, passing cars, being passed, going straight 130 miles per hour,” he said. His father, Troy, serves as his driving coach. His mother, Cara, was his driver when he was in Southern California. Over the last year, he has traveled across the United States and to France, Portugal, Spain, and Italy for competitions. “Growing up I played every sport – football, soccer, basketball, golf, tennis, rugby, swimming,” he said. “I tried playing guitar. I tried playing piano. I tried playing everything.” He found the most success in racing cars. He has his own YouTube channel that highlights some of his early experiences. He now uses the Instagram handle @Truly_theTruth. He says he has started studying for his California driving test in September 2026. Asked what he would say to the instructor in the car, he said, “I’d tell them I’m a professional race car driver and do you want to go over the speed limit?” This is a daily look at positive events happening in high school sports.
